The moment I saw Ana’s hair, I knew I had to photograph her. She explained to me that her hair had been in double French braids for a few days and when she took them out, her hair was beautifully crimped. So several months later, she finally came to my home studio with her mom and her very best friend and suitcase FULL of clothes.
I love it when my portrait clients bring a giant wardrobe with them. What’s more fun than having a makeover and playing dres up for a photoshoot?! Ana didn’t have a stylist because herhair was exactly the way I wanted to photograph it, but her best friend has worked with me before as an assistant and did a wonderful job at this shoot as well.
Ana had brought this beautiful royal blue embroidered tank top with her to my studio because she loved it, but she had nothing to wear over or under it and she was uncomfortable wearing it by itself. So, as I sometimes do, I ran and pull a black half sleeve t shirt from the “studio wardrobe” (which, in this case, also doubled as my own!).
This is one of my favorite portraits from her photoshoot. Her hair is stunning and she looks like the beautiful young woman that she is.
